Assisted Living Training Courses
80-Hour Assisted Living Managers' Course
This comprehensive course meets the full requirement for prospective Assisted Living Managers under Maryland COMAR 10.07.14. It's designed to equip you with the knowledge, leadership, and compliance skills needed to manage a licensed assisted living program.
20-Hour Assisted Living Manager Renewal Course
For current managers who need to meet the every two year renewal requirement. This course provides updated training and ensures compliance with COMAR standards, with a focus on current best practices, resident care, and regulatory updates.
Initial COMAR Training for New Employees
Required for staff working in assisted living settings, this course introduces essential COMAR regulations, safety procedures, and resident care standards.
Annual COMAR Renewal Training
A streamlined refresher covering key regulatory updates and ongoing compliance expectations for assisted living staff.
Assisted Living Manager Qualifications
(1) An individual shall be licensed as required by Health Occupations Article, §9-3A-01, Annotated Code of Maryland, before the individual may practice as an assisted living manager in Maryland.
(2) The assisted living manager shall at a minimum:
(a) Be 21 years old or older;
(b) Possess a high school diploma, a high school equivalency diploma, or other appropriate education and have experience to conduct the responsibilities specified in §C of this regulation;
(c) For level 3 licensed programs, have:
(i) A 4-year, college-level degree; or
(ii) 2 years experience in a health care related field and 1 year of experience as an assisted living program manager or alternate assisted living manager; or
(iii) 2 years experience in a health care related field and successful completion of an 80-hour assisted living manager training course approved by the Department;
Alternate Assisted Living Manager Qualifications
Per the regulations AALMs are not required to take the 80 Hr CourseAn alternate assisted living manager shall:A. Be available to assume the responsibilities in the COMAR Regulation .15C(2)(a)—(l) when the assisted living manager is not available;
B. Be 21 years old or older;
C. Have 2 years of experience in a health-related field; and
D. Meet the qualifications of the COMAR Regulation .19B(1)—(7)

20 Hr. Medication Technician Course
